Shipping & Returns

In Store Pick-Up Orders

Orders placed with will be processed immediately upon receipt, and can be shipped to the purchaser or held at the Copiague, Long Island NY, Pets Warehouse location for pick up. Most items will be shipped within two to seven days; however, circumstances, such as product availability for specific items, occasionally cause delays. We will provide the quickest possible processing of your order; however, we reserve the right to change the shipping method on all items to obtain best available service and pricing.

Pick up Instructions

Buyers will be notified by email when an order is ready for pickup. Save shipping costs, and visit the Copiague store, which will have your pre-paid items ready to go!

Standard Ground Shipping
Standard shipping within the continental United States will be via FedEx Ground Services or USPS (the post office). Shipping charges for the continental US are based on actual weight and/or dimensions, and reflect the charges established by the carrier.

Next & Second Day Shipping

Purchasers have the option to expedite delivery with premium shipping services or use cost-effective ground services. Not all of our 45,000 products in our inventory are available for expedited service; some items require special handling for delivery. Shipping costs will be reflected by these choices.

Expedited shipping can be arranged using air and special delivery services. When next or second day air are requested, we will ship the product the first day it is available. Most orders ship out in 2-7 business days. (orders place after 3PM are considered next day)

Specifically if you selected "expedited shipping" please be aware terms.

When you request next or second day air we will ship the product the first day it is available to us to ship to you. Therefore, requesting expedited shipping does not always mean the order will ship next or second day after the order is placed.

A tracking number will be emailed to the buyer.

Items requiring special handling:

Shipping of oversized items in excess of UPS, FedEx maximums (commonly over 150 pounds) require special handling. Shipping fees will be quoted individually by our office, and a quote will be emailed to the buyer for approval. No special items will be processed for shipping until we receive a return email to confirm our agreement regarding intended carrier and fees.

Aquatic plants are shipped on Mondays and Wednesdays to your door via Priority Mail, FedEx Next Day or Second Day Air. There are no returns.

Shipping of fish tanks is limited to specific carriers, and FedEx will not ship glass tanks. Some bird cages cannot be shipped by FedEx; they must be shipped by common carrier (a freight trucking company). Please note that many times the shipping rate for special deliveries is more than the product. Be sure to carefully check your shipping quotes on these items before placing your order.

Fish & Coral orders can arrive right to your door Next Day Shipping via FedEx. We ship Monday thru Thursday. The standard box is 12x12x12 which can hold 2-4 medium-sized (3"-4") fish or coral, or 2-30 small fish 1.5"-2". Shipping arrangements for larger orders are calculated offline for the best rates. Acclimation instructions will be included. PleaseNote: Someone must be present to accept a deliver and sign for the shipment. We can ship to your home, office or other specified location where someone can accept delivery.

Return & Refund Policies

 1. Please examine your order as soon as it arrives. Although rare, look for any signs of defective, damaged or a wrong item(s) shipped. 

All claims must be initiated no later than first business day after delivery. Any issues not reported within the next business day of delivery date cannot be adjusted or credited.

Contact us by Email to report problems. Have your order number and details about the item(s) you would like to return before returning.

2. If an item doesn't fit, if you just don't like it, or if it doesn’t work for your application, we will gladly accept a return if the item is in perfect condition. However, we are not responsible for the costs of shipping the item to you or returning it to us. We will refund or credit your account for the item only, if exchanging it but not shipping. 
Further, if returning for refund a 20% restocking fee will be deducted from the refund.

3. All returns must be in undamaged, resalable, and in original packaging & packing.

4. In the case of Pets Warehouse shipping the incorrect item, we will replace the item at no cost to the buyer. If the item is damaged by FedEx or USPS, we make refunds after settlement. The carrier may require inspection.

5. In the case of a delivery dispute (when a package was not received, but the carrier provides proof of delivery), we will file a claim with the carrier.

8. We are not responsible for errors in shipping times or delays.

Refusing Delivery
If you refuse your delivery you will be responsible for all shipping costs and a restocking fee.
If the order contains live aquaria or frozen foods there will be no refunds.

Problems with merchandise after 30 days:

All merchandise we sell is covered by the manufacturer’s warranty. We will gladly assist you in contacting the manufacturer or we will do it for you so you are satisfied with your purchase. Simply Contact Us with your order number and details about the product.
